Valencia (Spain), 6th November 2014
Movistar Yamaha MotoGP has the pleasure to present “Piloto 360”, the first mobile virtual reality experience that enables the user to feel, first-hand and from any perspective, what it is like to be a MotoGP rider.
“Piloto 360” offers the MotoGP followers the opportunity to become a rider in the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team. It is a unique experience that invites you to live for a day in the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team, to access the pit, to meet the technicians and ride at the controls of the Yamaha YZR-M1, training together with MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo.
The app has two versions, a first that allows movement of the mobile phone in all directions, offering the user the possibility, among many others, to place themselves in order to listen to how Jorge Lorenzo challenges the race in the pit, or look back while he rides at over 200 kilometres per hour. And a second, very innovative option, where the fan can have an even more real experience thanks to special “Oculus Rift” glasses, a device that Movistar Yamaha MotoGP will distribute at the Grand Prix in Valencia on 8th and 9th November.
The project is being launched to coincide with the final MotoGP Grand Prix at the circuit of the Comunitat Valenciana, with the aim that, with Movistar Yamaha MotoGP, fans will be able to continue experiencing all the emotions of motor-racing after the end of the season.
For this, Movistar has created the website www.piloto360.es including several videos of the communications campaign that Movistar launched in recent weeks as well as the making of of the action and links to download the free app, “Piloto360”, already available for Android (available for iOS starting Sunday 9th November).
