Resignation of the President of the MRA

It is with much sadness that I am writing this to you.  I have spent the last 3+ years serving the MRA as both Vice President and President. I have given much of myself to the club in recent years, and unfortunately, it has come as a detriment to my family.  During my time serving the club, I have allowed unnecessary non-racing related club issues to consume me to the point where my attitude and behavior has drastically deteriorated. This has unfortunately led me to neglect my duties as a husband and a father, and I now find myself at a critical juncture in my personal life. At this time, I must take a step back and make my family my number one priority in order to repair the damage I have done by neglecting my personal relationships with my wife and my son.

Effective immediately, I am resigning my position as President of the MRA.  I will turn over all Presidential duties to Vice President Phil Pleiss.  I know Phil is more than capable to lead this club in the right direction with the rest of the amazing members of the Board of Directors. I will work with Phil to help him transition smoothly into this role.

I want you all to know that I deeply appreciate each and every one of you, and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve you.  I’m sorry that I cannot fulfil the duties in which I was entrusted to perform, but my priority must be to my family at this time. I hope you all can understand why I must do this.

I will leave you all with this: The MRA is about racing motorcycles. It is important that it remains about racing motorcycles and building relationships, not silly politics. Have faith in the Board of Directors, I promise you they are working hard to give each of you the best club racing experience possible.

With Love,

Jeremy Alexander

Former President of the Motorcycle Roadracing Association
