MRA Switches To MotorsportReg

MRA Switches To MotorsportReg

Denver, CO – This week the Colorado based Motorcycle Roadracing Association (MRA) board of directors decided unanimously to move to MotorsportReg for its licensing & race entry solution starting in 2021.   For the past 8-10 years, the MRA has been using RaceWurx for the bulk of their administration tasks.  RaceWurx has served the club well & Marc Allen has been very helpful with supporting the MRA over the years.   With the increasing number of computer platforms used by club members, the use of MotorsportReg by the Colorado race tracks, and other club operation objectives, the MRA made the decision to move.

Prototyping & pathfinding the new software with existing MRA processes (including timing, scoring, & gridding) was a hurdle to this transition.  During this “off-season” Phil Pleiss (MRA Vice President), Brittany Morrison (Secretary), Tiffany Maestas (Treasurer) and Rick Bickhard (Timing System) have spent many hours consulting, experimenting and configuring the system to fit into the MRA’s registration and race procedures.   They received outstanding support and consulting from the Hagerty/MotorsportReg team, notably Brent Whitten.

According to Pleiss, “Both the MRA Membership and board of directors have been looking for better ways to automate the systems that promote and run our events.   MotorsportReg, Race Hero, MyLaps, Orbits and Speedhive applications are purpose built for racing organizations like the MRA. This system is going to improve efficiency with how we process membership, events, registration, timing, scoring, gridding, results and points championships. Our membership will be able to access many of these applications on a smartphone, tablet or computer. We are all very excited to get this new system up and running!”

MotorsportReg will be first used by the MRA for membership licensing and race school registration coming up on February 15th.   Any questions about the MRA investigation or our processes can be directed to Pleiss at https://www.mra-racing.org/contact-us/.

The Motorcycle Roadracing Association is dedicated to promoting safe and competitive motorcycle road racing events for enthusiasts in Colorado and the surrounding area. For more information go to http://www.mra-racing.org/.
