MRA New Racers’ School sold out & successful
Byers, CO – The Motorcycle Roadracing
Association sold out the New Racers’ School held over April 5-6 at High Plains
Raceway. On Friday evening, 50 students
were instructed by New Rider Direction Jeff Brown on everything from racetrack
procedures, motorcycle preparation, cornering technique, and even physical
preparations for racing.
On Saturday, students were set up with MRA volunteer instructors
for a full day of on track exercises.
After some dropping out, there were 48 students set up with 23
instructors all hosted by fantastic weather at HPR. The day consisted of five 30 minute track
sessions & several focused riding drills after which the A group and B
group students were given the opportunity to do two rounds of 7 lap races. This provided them with a very realistic bar
to bar competition experience usually confined to race organizations. Most students elected to do the school as an
instructed track day but in the end 17 of them signed up as new racers with the
MRA!
The MRA will officially kick off its 2019 season with the
opening race at High Plains Raceway over the weekend of May 11-12 using the
North Course configuration.
The Motorcycle Roadracing Association is dedicated to
promoting safe and competitive motorcycle road racing events for enthusiasts in
