MUGGERIDGE AND PARKES CARRY TEN KATE HONDA HOPES

Karl Muggeridge and Broc Parkes will ride for World Champions, Ten Kate Honda in the 2004 World Supersport championship aboard the all-conquering CBR600RR machine.

The exciting pairing will aim to clinch a third consecutive World Supersport crown for the Dutch team. “We are very excited for next year and are very happy that Karl and Broc will be spearheading our challenge in 2004,” said team manager, Ronald ten Kate.

Muggeridge had a brilliant end to the 2003 season with three consecutive wins at Assen, Imola and Magny-Cours, lifting him up to fourth in the overall standings with 134 points.

“I am very happy to be racing with Ten Kate next year and I am sure I can fight for the title. I had glandular fever at the start of this year and that cost me the first half of the season. The team did a fantastic job all year and I am looking forward to working with everybody again,” said 29-year-old Muggeridge.

Fellow Australian, Parkes had his first ride for Ten Kate in the final round of the 2003 World Supersport championship at Magny-Cours in France but fell on lap 20 while in contention for a podium place.

“After a lot of disappointment this year, I am thrilled to be racing next year and it’s a bonus to be with such an impressive outfit as Ten Kate,” said Parkes who notched his first podium at Misano Adriatico, Italy with third place and finished the season in 13th place on 47 points.

World Supersport champion, Chris Vermeulen will race for Ten Kate Honda in the World Superbike championship on the all-new CBR1000RR Fireblade machine.
