MV Agusta And Scassa Win FIM Superstock DQ Appeal Over Use Of Traction Control

Court of Arbitration for Sport Appeal of MV Agusta & Luca Scassa The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) convened in a hearing on 19 February 2007, in Lausanne (Switzerland) to judge the appeal lodged by MV Agusta Motors and the Italian rider Luca Scassa against the decision of the FIM Stewards. Scassa had won the Superstock FIM Cup race in Imola on 1st October 2006. Then he was disqualified by the Race Direction for non-respect of Art. 2.7.11 of the Regulations, following the report of the FIM Technical Director. The decision was confirmed in appeal by the FIM Stewards. The CAS communicated its decision last Tuesday. The FIM Stewards’ Panel decision of 1st October is cancelled. Mr Luca Scassa must be restored in his place as winner of the event in Imola, and thus in the Superstock FIM Cup classification of 2006 (see below complete classifications and decision on the website).
