THE NEW MV AGUSTA F3 WILL BE SHOD WITH PIRELLI DIABLO ROSSO CORSA TIRES The new and long awaited three cylinder “made in Italy” jewel will be available with Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa hypersport tires as original equipment in 120/70ZR17 on the front and 180/55 ZR17 on the rear Rome, Georgia On the occasion of the dynamic press launch of the new MV Agusta F3 at the Paul Ricard track in Le Castellet, Pirelli confirms its leadership in the top range segment: in fact, the Schiranna based manufacturer’s masterpiece, already introduced to the international press at EICMA 2010 with the declared objective of becoming the new reference point for the 600 category, will use Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa hypersport tires as original equipment in 120/70 ZR17 on the front and 180/55ZR17 on the rear. The Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa are the most versatile hypersport tires available for use on the road and track, designed for modern faired and naked sport bikes. While an original equipment fitment has already been achieved on the Ducati Streetfighter, a new fitment on the MV Agusta F3 again supports the Diablo Rosso Corsa’s three founding souls present in the Pirelli sport range: Diablo, the prestigious Pirelli brand celebrating 10 years of success and undisputed in the bike racing and hypersport world, Rosso like the all-Italian Pirelli passion for motor sport competitions and Corsa like the most noble expression of power of a race tires with undisputed performance. Designed and developed based on the latest generation of powerful street bikes characterized by impressive technological equipment and electronics systems, Diablo Rosso Corsa offers unimaginable performance thanks to the continuous research that Pirelli pursues with its radial tires for World Superbike, the know-how acquired through vast experience in high performance segments, new techniques of road contact area optimization in any riding conditions and the use of its racing derived three zone compound on the rear tire. The Diablo Rosso Corsa profiles stem from the WSBK experience and were designed specifically to ensure optimum distribution of power in the road surface contact area. Therefore, the contact area with the asphalt is wider and all the power can be transmitted to the ground. Thanks to ICS (Ideal Contour Shaping) technology, born from the combination of the crafting skill of Pirelli engineers and the support of sophisticated computerized modeling systems, the Diablo Rosso Corsa provides excellent support in leans and a great feeling of confidence in turns at maximum acceleration. Among the new solutions developed for Diablo Rosso Corsa, compounds play a primary role. The front tire compound guarantees maximum support under heavy braking and corner exit. This concept of “high grip with high stiffness” was maintained by combining compounding tools (dedicated reinforced carbon black and resins) which increase tread life and wet safety. The result is a compound with both a racing and street soul. The, on the other hand, represents the ideal way to offer the best performance where required in very different conditions, such as racetrack and road. Differentiated compounds between shoulders and center zone on the rear tire are the winning solutions engineered to give Diablo Rosso Corsa racing performance on the track and long lasting durability on road. Strong mileage is guaranteed by materials with high mechanical resistance in the central zone, while the high hysteresis shoulder compound gives steady grip response and incredible traction even at the highest lean angle. In the central zone the compound is derived from Diablo Rosso experience, but even sportier. Pirelli engineers have inserted special resins and plasticizers optimized in terms of chemical properties and quantity to ensure the best balance between dry and wet grip. Finally, the wide shoulders adopt a new softer compound developed and used in the WSBK arena. The 100% Carbon black compound is less rigid especially at mid-low temperature allowing for a very quick warm up, and reducing the difference in temperature versus crown area for a very linear transition from one compound to the other. Pirelli Tire North America designs, develops, manufactures and markets tires for passenger vehicles in both the original equipment and replacement markets as well as markets and distributes tires for motorcycles and motorsports. Located in Rome, Georgia, Pirelli’s Modular Integrated Robotized System (MIRS) employs state-of-the-art technology to manufacture automobile and light truck tires for both export and domestic markets.
