N2 / WERA Release Superbike Challenge Endurance Schedule for 2018

Asbury, NJ – N2 Track Days and WERA Motorcycle Roadracing release the Superbike Challenge Endurance schedule for 2018 with talks of a possible final round integrated into the WERA Grand National Finals.

The endurance events will follow a three-day format and include both a 4-hour and 2-hour endurance race. Each event will feature a 4-hour main event broken down into three classes: heavyweight, middleweight and lightweight with a 2-hour event dedicated to the ultra-lightweight class.

During the 2017 season, purse money was awarded on a per-round basis with payouts to the top three finishers in each class. An additional bonus was paid to the season overall class winners during the final round.

“It’s been a very exciting season and we’re very pleased to see the demand for endurance racing continue to grow. During the 2017 season, 63 unique teams participated in our endurance events and it’s showing no signs of slowing,” comments Robert Cichielo, N2’s CEO.

Evelyne Clark, WERA CEO comments, “WERA Motorcycle Roadracing and N2 have entered into a partnership to bring endurance racing back as well as to promote our businesses. Working together in the sport of motorcycle road racing is the way to go and we are excited and happy to be able to work with N2 on this series again in 2018!”

WERA will once again be officiating the events, including tech inspection and timing/scoring with the help of N2’s road racing staff. Aaron Borello and Scott Rosey, will continue to provide oversight and racer support for all N2 road racing events. The 2018 Orion/Pirelli N2 Endurance Rewards Program is back for 2018 with the following payouts to the top-three finishers of each class:

Heavyweight: $250, $75, $50

Middleweight: $200, $75, $50

Lightweight: $150, $50, $25

Ultra-Lightweight: $100, $50, $25

N2 has also announced that its new race registration system will be online for 2018. Team owners and racers can now create and manage their teams and register for events. The updated registration system is expected to launch on March 1, 2018 – look for further announcements.

Round 1: Pittsburgh International Raceway, June 15-17

Round 2: Virginia International Raceway, August 3-5

Round 3: New Jersey Motorsports Park, October 5-7

Round 4: Barber Motorsports Park, October 25-28 (GNF) (tentative)
