Nationwide Becomes Presenting Sponsor of the American International Motorcycle Expo

Agreement Partners Columbus-Based Insurance and Financial Services Provider with Leading Powersports Industry Expo

IRVINE, Calif. (May 15, 2017) – The American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) announced today a multi-year agreement with Nationwide (Nationwide) to serve as presenting sponsor of the powersports industry’s major expo, beginning with the event’s landmark fifth year in 2017, set for September 21-24 in Columbus, Ohio. The locally headquartered Fortune 100 company will showcase its broad offering of insurance and financial products and services to AIMExpo dealers and exhibitors in addition to raising awareness of this world-class event throughout the local community.

Nationwide has served its members for more than 90 years, and is one of the largest and strongest diversified insurance and financial services organizations in the U.S. Likewise, AIMExpo was founded to serve the powersports community with a robust platform that brings all facets of industry together in one place to foster growth within the marketplace and beyond. Today, the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) produced AIMExpo serves as North America’s premier powersports trade show and as a result, the two brands complement each other well. Nationwide already has a history of supporting motorcycling as a valued partner of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), but AIMExpo presents an unparalleled opportunity for the company to welcome the powersports business to its own backyard.

“Nationwide has long been committed to investing in and supporting the continued development in the city of Columbus,” said Mike Boyd, senior vice president of Marketing at Nationwide. “That’s why we’re pleased to partner with AIMExpo, to deliver an incredible event to the city of Columbus and its residents.”

With upwards of 500 exhibiting companies and thousands of dealers in attendance from the country’s most concentrated region – 41% of US powersports dealers are located within 500 miles of Columbus – Nationwide will share its message and the various insurance and financial solutions it provides with brands and business owners throughout the powersports industry, along with the largest network of dealers under one roof. Following two trade days, AIMExpo will open its doors to the public where the greater Columbus community will have the opportunity to see and experience the latest product offerings from exhibitors while also learning about the variety of personal insurance, banking and lending solutions Nationwide provides to powersports enthusiasts and the general public, alike.

“There couldn’t be a better partner to have than Nationwide as we embark on our journey to Columbus,” said Mike Webster, Senior Vice President of MIC Events. “This vibrant, growing city has all the right elements to make our fifth year of AIMExpo the most successful to date, and aligning with a local company that has contributed so much to the community will ensure we’re taking full advantage of everything Columbus has to offer. We’re also excited they will join in the ride with us to Las Vegas in 2018.”
