Track day provider NESBA raised $33,862 during a July 5-7 event at Road Atlanta organized to raise funds to help the Roadracing World Action Fund purchase, deploy and maintain soft barriers at the track. According to a posting made by NESBA Southeast Region Director John Allen on the NESBA Track Talk Forum (http://tracktalk.nesba.com/showthread.php?p=280136%23post280136), $11,987 was raised via sales of T-shirts and raffle tickets, from contributions and proceeds from previous events and silent auctions in 2013, and from dinner donations at Road Atlanta; $3850 was raised in direct donations; and $18,025 was raised via a live auction of donated items at Road Atlanta. “I also have a couple of other commitments from people for donations, but I’m not sure of the amounts so I won’t include those in the tally until I receive the checks,” Allen wrote in his post. NESBA raised $20,000 during a similar fund-raiser at Road Atlanta in 2012. With the result of the 2013 event at Road Atlanta, NESBA has contributed over $100,000 to the Roadracing World Action Fund in recent years. For more information on NESBA, go to www.nesba.com .
