Mohnton, PA – In the wake of the AMA Pro Superbike National race cancellation at VIR, NESBA is pleased to announce that it has successfully acquired these dates for an additional track-day event next month on VIR’s North course. “As motorcycle racing enthusiasts, it was unfortunate to observe the breakdown of this AMA event and its ultimate cancellation”, comments Bob Blandford, NESBA President. He further comments, “While many of our members and staff enjoy watching/attending these AMA events, it’s especially rewarding to see some of our own staff and members participate in AMA road racing.” Registration will open this week on NESBA’s site (see www.nesba.com) for those that wish to sign-up for this extended weekend event. While Saturday and Sunday will follow the traditional NESBA track-day format, Friday has been designated as another “endurance day” event for NESBA’s Advanced and Intermediate group riders. Endurance days are part of a new track-day format offered by NESBA, essentially providing a green track for riders all day long. Blandford also adds, “The endurance day events are also a great opportunity for our intermediate group members to ride alongside our control riders and advanced riders at pace, while implementing special passing rules to help assure everyone’s safety. We are delighted to extend this new format to the VIR North course.” Connie Nyholm, VIR co-owner and Managing Partner had this to say, “VIR is pleased to welcome NESBA on the North Course opposite ARHMA on the South Course August 12-14, 2011. Watching motorcycles corner through these two very different courses is an exciting experience that is hard to duplicate. NESBA has rode multiple track configurations at VIR for years and we look forward to hosting their riders and fans again next month and in the future.” NESBA will maintain all current events scheduled for VIR, including the August 20-22 weekend on the South and North courses. While NESBA strives to continually add new dates to its event calendar, the CMP (Carolina Motorsports Park) event scheduled for August 6-7 has been cancelled. About the Northeast Sportbike Association: The Northeast Sportbike Association (NESBA) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, formed in 1996 by sportbike enthusiasts and former racers who understand and appreciate the difference between riding fast and riding well.
