Get Started Riding Motorcycles: The Definitive Guide for Women

Thanks to the support of Can-Am On-Road, Getting Started Riding Motorcycles was initially released at the Women’s Motorcycle Festival and Conference August 19-22, 2021

Arlington, Virginia – Get Started Riding Motorcycles: The Definitive Guide for Women, is the culmination of Alisa Clickenger’s most insightful and experientially-based advice for women who want to ride. With more than 25 years of experience riding motorcycles solo around the globe, Alisa’s personal mission is to help women step into confident, kick-ass lives they love through travel and adventure. Alisa was unveiling and signing the book at the Women’s Motorcycle Festival and Conference in Arlington, Virginia – August 19-22, 2021. This book was made possible thanks to funding from Can-Am’s Women of On-Road program.

This book takes women through a rider’s entire journey, from how to get started, through weekend and week-long rides, all the way through to cross-country and “fly-and-ride” adventures all over the planet! No matter if you are a newly-licensed woman rider looking for help on how to get started or a seasoned rider looking to build your confidence, this book will take you to new heights. The book also features learning-to-ride stories from other women riders, each with a variety of experiences; some contributors having been riding for a little over a year and others with over three decades of experience.

“Over the years I’ve met many other women, like myself, whose lives have been completely transformed when they started riding motorcycles. The power of the machines, the freedom of the open road, and the camaraderie of the community of motorcyclists is a powerful elixir,” said Clickenger. “From girlhood, most women are conditioned to conform and encouraged to be our small, quiet selves. When we embrace a boundary-breaking activity, our whole world opens up and all the ways we’ve been taught to hold ourselves back come into sharp focus. Then we look around and wonder what else is possible for ourselves if we follow our own internal compass.”

Get Started Riding Motorcycles: The Definitive Guide for Women was made possible thanks to the contributions of Can-Am On-Road, a BRP brand. Also a sponsor of the Women’s Motorcycle Festival and Conference, Can-Am’s Women of On-Road proudly supported Alisa’s new book as the brand’s mission is to democratize the open road.

”Can-Am On-Road is committed to address the staggering deficit of women riders in the riding community. We have done so by supporting projects and providing new educational resources such as Alisa and her new book that both help empower female riders,” said Martin Ethier, Director, Global Marketing, Can-Am On-Road. ”Our team and Alisa share the same mission of inspiring more women to join the riding community so it was all natural for us to join forces.”

Get Started Riding Motorcycles is for any woman with a desire to gain confidence, experience the freedom of the open road, and personal transformation that only riding motorcycles can offer. Copies of the print book can be ordered as of today through Amazon.com and Amazon.ca and as of Monday at https://alisaclickenger.com/get-started-riding-motorcycles/
