A new fundraiser featuring 20 young motorcycle road racers in a commemorative set of cards has just been launched in order to raise the remaining $75,000 needed to complete the Peter Lenz Memorial Athletic Field at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Vancouver, WA.

Young racing legend Peter Lenz passed away at Indianapolis Motor Speedway after a tragic racing crash on August 29th 2010 that sent the entire motorcycle racing community worldwide into shock.

Teachers, students and parents from St. Joseph’s Catholic School, (Peter’s Grad School) decided to honor their fallen angel and his zest for life with a memorial athletic field. Since then, they, with the support of many in the racing community, have collected nearly 2/3rds of the $200,000 needed to build the multi-lane running track and grass athletic field in his name.

The 2014 Fundraiser for the Peter Lenz Memorial Athletic Field was put together to honor the unique relationship between Peter and his trusted mascot, Dynee with the ultimate goal of raising the remaining $75,000 needed to make the Athletic Field a reality.

“Dynee is and shall forever be Peter Lenz’s best mate. They travelled the world together, spending more time together than any boy and dinosaur in history.” Michael Lenz.

Peter featured Dynee on his race bike and his leathers. Dynee was often seen around the paddock, hanging out on a fence near the track, or perched in the trailer, excitedly watching Peter race.

Over the past few months, young riders that either knew Peter, raced with Peter or were inspired by the incredible young man were asked to describe their own mascot, a loved family pet, a creature that best fits their personality, or even a younger sibling. Each rider described their own best pal and how they would help and support them on race day.

20 young riders participated and motorcycle racing “trading cards” in their likeness have been created to feature each unique rider and mascot while paying tribute to Peter Lenz and the greatest mascot in the history of motorcycle racing.

Riders in the commemorative card set are: Alex Wisdom, Andre Ochs, Ashton Parker, Austin DeHaven, Benny Solis, Josh Herrin, Zach Herrin, Jake Hayes, Jake Lewis, Jayson Uribe, Joe Roberts, John Gessner, Jonathan Finn, Matthew Finn, Josh Serne, Lex Hartl, Nick McFadden, Ryan Matter, Tucker Lancaster, and Tyler Linders.

It is our hope that you will help us memorialize Peter in this very special way by making a donation to the Peter Lenz Memorial Athletic Field. Donate $20 plus shipping charges and receive one Card Set as a gift. Donate $35 or more and receive two Card Sets as a gift.
