GEICO opens the door to ~http://www.geicogarage.com~ for racing and Powersports fans WASHINGTON, D.C. — To help you keep up with all of your favorite GEICO-sponsored sports teams and athletes, GEICO has created a new interactive Web site, ~http://www.geicogarage.com~, which includes information about all seven teams. Featured on the site is international racing sensation Max Papis, widely regarded as one of the most versatile race car drivers in the world. “Geicogarage.com is an awesome site because it takes you behind the scenes and gives you full access to our NASCAR program, as well as all of GEICO’s Powersports programs,” said Papis. “I enjoy visiting the site to see the regularly updated news and photos for all the teams. It’s interactive and fun and keeps me in touch with what’s going on in the world of GEICO Racing.” Visitors to the site can click and interact with several special features. You’ll be able to find information and bios, competition schedules, photo galleries, videos, facts and downloads about the following teams and athletes: “Mad” Max Papis gets behind the wheel of the No. 13 GEICO Toyota Camry in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series this year. Miss GEICO Racing, which had five boat racing championship wins in 2008, plans to beat that record in 2009. GEICO Powersports Honda Motocross and Supercross Team, led by Trey Canard, last year’s rookie sensation, and Kevin Windham, a 15-year veteran pro racer. The team’s combination of returning stars and emerging talent make it one of the strongest ever assembled. GEICO Powersports Buell AMA Sportbike Rider, Michael Barnes. Barnes has a vast array of racing experiences in over 10 countries and in countless racing organizations. AMA fans can keep track of this rider throughout the season. GEICO Powersports Endurocross/GNCC Team, one of the largest teams assembled on the site. New to the team this year are Paul Whibley, Jimmy Jarrett, and Scott Watkins, racing in the GNCC, OMA and select Endurocross series events. Team manager JT Bennett will be racing in select GNCC races while concentrating on the Endurocross and National East Harescramble series. Jennifer Albright returns to the team in the Women’s Quad A Class while the Rodgers brothers, Eric and Ryan, are back on the team for the Endurocross Series. GEICO Powersports NHRA team, which consists of Pro Stock Motorcycle Racer, Karen Stoffer and Top Fuel Dragster, Morgan Lucas. GEICO Powersports Pro Bass Angler, Christiana Bradley. This year she is competing in the Women’s Bassmaster Tour and LAPR Bass Series Tour. “We wanted to create a site that would allow fans of these sports to get an inside peek into the lives of the racers,” says GEICO’s Ted Ward, vice president of marketing. “We hope that this will be a source of information for fans along with some fun and interesting facts about each sport and its competitors.” To find out more about your favorite GEICO-sponsored athletes, go to geicogarage.com.
