New Head Of AMA Sports Named

AMA NAMES NEUBAUER VP OF AMA SPORTS PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced that Douglas Neubauer has been promoted to the position of Vice President of AMA Sports, the AMA’s amateur and pro-am competition division. Neubauer, who previously was Senior Director of AMA Sports, will continue to be responsible for leading the AMA Sports staff, which manages more than 4,000 AMA-sanctioned amateur, pro-am, ATV and youth competition events each year. “Douglas is a valuable asset to the AMA, and we’re pleased to recognize his leadership with this promotion,” said Patricia DiPietro, the AMA’s Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to AMA Sports’ continued growth under his direction.” “The phenomenal growth of AMA-sanctioned competition is the result of hard work by the entire AMA Sports team,” said Neubauer. “I’m excited about the many opportunities, in all forms of competition, for even greater success in the future.” Neubauer came to the AMA in January of 2002 from IHRA Motorsports, where he served as assistant to the organization’s president, managing a variety of marketing, promotion, and program-development tasks. An Ohio native, he also has a special interest in motocross, including experience in motocross-track development.
