New Jersey Motorsports Park, TrackRacket continue to work together in 2013 season ‘Sound Committee’ consisting of NJMP, TrackRacket representatives, meets monthly MILLVILLE, N.J. – Two years after a cordial agreement out of court, New Jersey Motorsports Park and TrackRacket, a non-profit citizen action group, continue to work together, collectively monitoring noise levels of motorsports activities at the Dividing Creek Road facility. The ‘Sound Committee’, made up of NJMP officials, TrackRacket members, and local citizens, meets monthly to review decibel levels and random evaluations. As a result of the 2011 settlement, NJMP has made a number of modifications to its existing public address sound system and operating procedures, including adjusting the start and end times for on-track activity. Through the combined efforts of TrackRacket and NJMP, two new methods of directly registering a noise complaint have been established. Noise complaints can be e-mailed to [email protected] or left via voicemail on the “sound hotline,” 856-327-7244. All noise complaints submitted either by voicemail or e-mail will be collected and reviewed by the Sound Committee during each monthly meeting. In addition, the committee has begun to reach out to NJMP’s track rental partners in an effort to educate them about the Park’s “Good Neighbor Policy”, which includes being mindful of the surrounding neighborhoods en route to, and while inside the NJMP facility. A copy of the “Good Neighbor Policy” can be found atwww.njmp.com “Our working relationship with TrackRacket allows us to address all local concerns in our continuing efforts to be a good partner with the residents of Millville and Cumberland County,” said Brad Scott, general manager of New Jersey Motorsports Park. “We’ve begun to include our track rental partners into the sound committee’s conversations and expect that to continue throughout the season.” TrackRacket’s commitment to the Sound Committee is steadfast and unwavering. “NJMP has been very receptive to our concerns and is working with us to address every viable remedy to reduce the problem of noise. We look forward to working with the track rental partners in an education program that will bring awareness to the sheer number of pre-existing residential properties that are in close proximity to NJMP that find themselves impacted by loud noise generated by cars and motorcycles,” said Michelle Post, founder and president of TrackRacket.
