See the two-wheeled daredevils challenge the Lightning course and then zip over to the Thunderbolt Course to catch the four wheel action as the Mazda Motorsports Festival of Racing presents the following five action packed racing series: Star Mazda Championship Presented by Goodyear – What do Graham Rahal, Marco Andretti, and Scott Speed have in common? They all raced in Star Mazda. Star Mazda was the cornerstone from which the MAZDASPEED ladder was developed. 2010 is the 20th season of competition making it the oldest road-racing series in North America. The NJMP race will carry extra importance as it is one of five stops that count towards the VISIT FLORIDA CUP, a championship within a championship. SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup – The MX-5 Cup is known for close competition in the most popular roadster ever built. The identical MX-5 Cup cars are affordable (under $50K ready to race) and fast (125 mph). This has proven to be the ideal starting point for racers jumping from “club” racer to “pro”. Patrón GT3 Challenge by Yokohama – The GT3 Challenge is a highly comopetetive Porsche race car series that combines two classes of racing under one green flag. The Platinum Cup features 2008 and 2009 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars and the Gold Cup runs Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars from 2005 through 2007. Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Championship Series – The Prototype Lites feature multi-class racing, presenting a diverse dimension of competition as drivers must be acutely aware of classes with cars running at distinctly different speeds as they navigate the race tracks. The series features global race car constructors Elan Motorsport Technologies, West Race Cars, and Van Diemen Motorsports. Cooper Tires Presents USF 2000 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Powered by Mazda – For nearly 20 years, F2000 has earned its reputation as the entry-level pro series of choice for career-minded open-wheel drivers. The USF2000 National Championship has been the stepping stone for many top drivers.Any race car currently competing in SCCA Club Racing Formula Continental (FC) competition or in either of the two regional F2000 series is eligible to compete in the USF2000 series.
