Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic Cruiser Headlines Charity Fundraiser at AMA Weekend PROCEEDS FROM NORTHBAY MOTORSPORT & MARINE CHARITY FUNDRAISER BENEFIT YOUTH GROUPS IN SONOMA COUNTY SONOMA, Calif. (April 5, 2007) Dreams will come true at Infineon Raceway as one lucky person will leave the Sonoma Valley on a brand-new Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic Cruiser at the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, Sunday, May 20. The Vulcan 900 Classic will highlight the 4th annual Northbay Motorsport & Marine Charity Fundraiser, which will take place Sunday morning in the Wine Country Winner’s Circle. The auction will feature signed memorabilia from top AMA riders, including Ben Spies and Mat Mladin from Suzuki, and Jamie Hacking and Roger Hayden from Kawasaki. The featured item will be the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic Cruiser, which will be given away in a drawing format. The drawing begins this Friday, April 6, at Two-Wheel Thunder at Infineon Raceway. Top AMA teams Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha will test the road course in advance of the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, presented by Supercuts, in May. Admission to Two-Wheel Thunder is free. Race fans will be able to purchase tickets on Friday for the big drawing in the Wine Country Winner’s Circle beginning at 9 a.m. Cost is $50 per ticket. The best part is all proceeds from the fundraiser benefit needy youth groups in Sonoma County through Speedway Children’s Charities, the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway. Event organizers hope to generate $12,000 from the drawing, and another $10,000 from the auction. The motorcycle has been generously donated by Pete Fitzmyers and Jamie McCulloch, owners of Northbay Motorsport & Marine, which is based in Santa Rosa. “I am always thrilled to be able to help out our local charities and Speedway Children’s Charities is a good one,” McCulloch said. “The fact that it involves Infineon Raceway and the drawing will occur on AMA weekend is just icing on the cake.” SCC has distributed more than $2.1 million to needy youth groups in Sonoma County since 2002, including more than $500,000 in 2006. Tickets for the drawing will be sold through early Sunday morning of the upcoming AMA weekend in May. If you are unable to attend Two-Wheel Thunder on Friday, but would like to purchase raffle tickets, contact Denise Silver at 707-933-3950 or [email protected].
