The Blackhawk Farms Raceway – Motovid.com Track Championship Rider Clinics delivers new format, new instructors and enhanced curriculum to improve performance riding in 2011 for its students. (SOUTH BELOIT, IL) April 21 The Blackhawk Farms Raceway – Motovid.com Track Championship Rider Clinics presented by Southeast Sales Corp. Kawasaki – KTM – Honda – Suzuki has extended it’s rider education curriculum for 2011 by adding two new classes to supplement the traditional Advanced Rider Clinic format with an incredible staff of current and former track champions with its first event May 20th. The new additions to the program designed with the rider’s experience level and desired goals in mind focuses the program even further to increase the opportunity for individual gains. With this new format, riders of all levels can improve their skills, learn safe riding techniques, develop fundamentals and progressively gain confidence and speed on the track from Blackhawk Farms Raceway track champions. Class size is limited to maintain 3:1 student-to-instructor ratio for a highly personalized coaching experience. Lunch is included for each student, provided by track concession partner, Cafe Fastee’, while Motovid.com delivers a souvenir DVD to each student post event. Each class maintains dedicated classroom lessons with 15 min. on track sessions for drills and exercises per hour. Students should expect upwards of 3 hours of classroom time with 2.5 hours of on track exercises. Trackside Services include support from Race Tire Services & Dunlop Tires, the official Motorcycle Tire for Blackhawk Farms Raceway and Motovid.com. With dedicated suspension tuning services provided by Trackside Suspension and Engineering. Sport Riding 101- “How to keep it up!” New for the 2011 season, the Sport Riding 101 class presented by lead instructor Leon Winfrey with Harry Wirth and Mike Wemmer is designed for the novice or intermediate rider interested in track days, understanding the dynamics of track riding, and improving their street and sport riding skills. Students learn basic body position, vision, throttle control techniques. Topics include; Understanding the feedback loop, dealing with lean angles at speed, corner entry, braking/shifting techniques and track riding safety. Advanced Rider Clinic “Advanced performance riding skills for the track and street” Back for another season, the Advanced Rider Clinic class returns with Lead Instructor PJ Thorton and his team of seasoned road race champions Dave Ebben and Tommy Girard. The Advanced Rider Clinic class is designed for the experienced track day enthusiast who rides intermediate and advance group or club road racer working to improve their fundamental performance riding skills. Topics include; Gaining more information through the feedback loop, executing a pass safely and with confidence, developing “racer eyes”, improving speed with consistency, performance riding endurance, and advanced body position, braking/shifting techniques. Riders interested in getting “bumped” within their track day organization’s riding group or club racers looking to take their riding to the next level should consider the Advanced Rider Clinic. Race Academy – “Go fast with fast company!” For the licensed road racer looking for an edge, the new Race Academy class led by Blackhawk Farms Raceway’s own 2010 track champion / overall CCS MW #1 plate, Jason Farrell breeds speed with his team of Speedtech Racing “Fast Company” AMA/ASRA/CCS racers, Brian Hall and Shawn Hill. The Race Academy program is very dynamic, designed to meet the individual goals of dedicated licensed road racer, focused on improving race results, speed, and overall performance. Topics include; tuning the feedback loop, optimal braking/shifting, developing a winning mentality/race strategy, using data acquisition/video tools, tracking analysis techniques.
