Longtime Club Racers Team up to Purchase Road Race Southwest, Inc. SCOTTSDALE, AZ Road Race Southwest, Inc., an affiliate of CCS/SW, is proud to announce the new ownership team of Tyler Smith, Patrick Bertinelli and Thomas Boge. The three racers joined forces to take over road racing in the southwest with their sites clearly set on the future. Former owner Jack Frost says. “The series is in great hands, I just have too many things going on at this point and I can’t devote the time the series deserves. I felt it was best to find someone to take it over and with Patrick, Tyler and Tom, I know the series is going to be in great hands. I’m going to miss it a lot as it was a huge part of my life, but the most important thing to me is that racing continues to grow in Arizona” The three racers, now owners, have a combined 20 years of road-racing experience. Smith, Bertinelli and Boge are ready to apply their track experience to running and expanding racing in the Southwest. “We look forward to this great opportunity of having a racer-owned series and improve on the foundation Jack has given us,” Bertinelli said. “When Jack presented this opportunity to us, we couldn’t pass it up,” Smith continued. “Road racing in the southwest means a lot to each one of us and we’re excited at the possibilities”. Racing in the region won’t miss a beat as this weekend the USGPRU racers are coming to Phoenix to compete in what’s expected to be a picture-perfect race weekend with sunny skies and mild temperatures. “We’re looking forward to this coming weekend as our friends from the USGPRU are coming to town adding additional races to our already competitive class schedule,” Boge said. “We believe this will be a great way to re-launch the series.” The remaining CCS/SW schedule for 2010: April 17 & 18 Firebird East May 15 & 16 Firebird Main September 18 & 19 Firebird Main October 23 & 24 Firebird East November 13 & 14 Firebird East To learn more about race schedules, license requirements and new riders school for those looking to break into this exciting sport, please visit www.roadracesw.com .
