ALAN CERWICK NAMED PRESIDENT AT VP RACING FUELS Former Valero Executive Plans National Branded Distribution SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 18, 2011) VP Racing Fuels, Inc., recently announced an agreement whereby over the coming months company owner Steve Burns will sell his interest in the company to Alan Cerwick, former executive at Valero Energy and 19-year veteran of the petroleum industry. Cerwick will assume the position of President, while Burns will remain CEO and continue to direct all research and development for race fuel products. “VP remains committed to leading the industry in race fuel technology and we’ll continue delivering the leading edge fuel products racers have come to expect,” said Burns. “We have an opportunity to take the VP brand to the next level and Alan’s depth and breadth of experience in the industry will prove invaluable as he undertakes this new initiative.” Cerwick has held key management positions at Koch Industries and was formerly Vice President of Wholesale Operations at Valero Energy. In 2002, Cerwick was integral to the rollout of Valero branded gasoline stations across the U.S. “I’m excited about the unique opportunity to leverage VP’s 35-year history of providing performance fuels in all forms of motorsports into a national brand of retail gas stations,” Cerwick said. “Racers win with VP fuels every weekend all across the country and internationally. Taking this winning tradition into the consumer marketplace provides unique opportunities for not only the retail gas station market, but also for all of VP’s racing partners.” “VP plans to utilize this expanded market to provide more exposure to untapped markets for its partner series, tracks and race teams. Putting more fans in the seats helps all of the racing industry grow,” Cerwick continued. “Retail gas stations will have the opportunity to expand their offering into new areas of revenue, including ‘VP100,’ a 100 octane street legal unleaded racing fuel, and an expanded product mix to include VP-branded fuel system cleaners, octane boosters and our recently introduced SEF Small Engine Fuel for 2-cycle and 4-cycle portable gas-powered equipment.” “As our concept comes to realization, we will be working with our racing partners to find new and unique opportunities to expand the thrill and excitement of racing to our consumers at the retail gas stations,” Cerwick concluded. Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, VP Racing Fuels has been an industry leader in race fuel technology and innovation since 1975, manufacturing fuels with a reputation for superior power and performance. VP is the Official Fuel of NHRA Championship Drag Racing, American Le Mans, American Drag Racing League (ADRL), Rally America, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Late Models, among nearly 60 VP-sponsored series and sanctioning bodies. In addition to racing fuels and SEF Small Engine Fuels, VP’s product line includes hobby fuels, traction compounds, race fuel containers, and fuel handling accessories. VP maintains three manufacturing facilities and operates race fuel distribution facilities in Texas, Indiana, Georgia, Delaware and California. VP also utilizes more than 50 independent distributors and over 1,500 dealers throughout North America, Central America, Europe, Australia, Russia, the Middle East and Pacific Rim.
