Nicky Hayden to sit out Jerez test due to injury

Nicky Hayden will sit out the two-day winter test that gets underway tomorrow at Circuito de Jerez in Spain. The 35-year-old American rider twisted his knee while doing some flat-track training near Barcelona last Friday, after completing the first winter test of the season at MotorLand Aragón.

Hayden has returned to the USA and will undergo further medical examinations today, which will give a complete diagnosis on the extent of the injury, before any decision regarding medical procedure is taken. A new update will be released as soon as more information becomes available.

Hayden’s new team mate Stefan Bradl will be the sole rider carrying out testing duties with the Honda WorldSBK Team in Jerez following an impressive debut on the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP at MotorLand Aragón last week.
