Nicky Hayden To Be Remembered Before Start Of Daytona 200

The late Nicky Hayden, a former MotoGP World Champion and AMA Superbike Champion and Daytona 200 winner, will be remembered during the pre-race ceremony prior to the 2018 Daytona 200 Saturday, March 17 at Daytona International Speedway.

The remembrance was initiated by Robert Zerbisias, a former race mechanic for the Hayden family who lives in Florida and contacted Daytona International Speedway with the idea.

Hayden won the Daytona 200 in 2002, the same year he won the AMA Superbike Championship.

Hayden died May 22, 2017, from injuries sustained when he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle May 17, 2017, in Italy.
