AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame selects winning ticket for 2017 Ural Gear Up ‘Adventure Together’ raffle bike

Lisa J. Malachowsky’s entry chosen by Nicky Hayden’s family

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Lisa J. Malachowsky of Apex, N.C. was selected as the winner of the 2017 Ural Gear Up “Adventure Together” raffle bike in a drawing Friday at the Hilton Columbus/Polaris.

Family members of the late MotoGP World Champion and new AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame inductee Nicky Hayden, drew the winning entry as a prelude to the 2018 American Honda AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

“The Ural sidecar rig is fun to ride, and this one is outfitted with some great gear and was put together with special care and attention,” said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. “Lisa Malachowsky has won a one-of-a-kind motorcycle, while helping support the legacy of American motorcycling through her donation to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.”

The two-wheel drive sidecar from Ural Motorcycles is a special edition, outfitted and graphic-designed by Ural ambassadors and AMA members the Wilkinson Brothers of Indianapolis.

The brand new motorcycle was set up and dialed in by one of the nation’s top Ural sales & service dealerships, Heindl Engineering of Eaton, Ohio (also AMA members). Inspired by the theme of “Adventure Together,” this Ural is meant for exploration with friends or family (or a pet!) who seek adventure in all types of terrain.

Following the Ural drawing, two Honda motorcycles were unveiled that celebrate the life of Nicky Hayden, who died in 2017 from injuries sustained in a bicycle crash. Hayden was one of six new members inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame on Friday.

American Honda donated a 2018 Honda CBR1000RR and a 2018 Honda XR650L, which were customized by Tony Prust of Analog Motorcycles and Jason LeCavalier of Artistimo Customs. The CBR1000RR is decked out in a full Repsol Honda livery, while the XR650L was heavily modified in a street-tracker motif.

Throughout 2019, the bikes will tour to select events and be on display at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame on the AMA campus in Pickerington, Ohio, before being raffled to raise funds for the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation.

All proceeds from AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame raffles go to the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit that raises money for the Hall of Fame. More information about the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and other raffle bikes can be found at www.motorcyclemuseum.org.
