New Jersey Motorsports Park’s 2012 season schedule taking shape with the return of GRAND-AM Road Racing, AMA Pro Road Racing, Rally America and other major motorsports series GRAND-AM race date moves to the spring; AMA Pro returns one week after Labor Day weekend MILLVILLE, N.J. – New Jersey Motorsports Park’s 2012 schedule is highlighted by the return of two major spectator events that have become staples on NJMP’s annual calendar. GRAND-AM Road Racing, featuring the Rolex Sports Car Series and the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, will return to NJMP May 11-13, 2012, while AMA Pro Road Racing, including the SuperBike, SportBike, SuperSport and XR1200 classes, will visit NJMP on Sept. 7-9, 2012. “There’s a lot for race fans to be excited about heading into the 2012 season,” said Brad Scott, general manager of New Jersey Motorsports Park. “Next season will mark the fifth anniversary of GRAND-AM Road Racing at NJMP, and we hope the new mid-May race date will give us a great weather forecast. “We’re equally as proud to welcome back AMA Pro for a fourth consecutive season following what proved to be a memorable race weekend this season. The move to the weekend following Labor Day should allow race fans the choice to celebrate the holiday at the Jersey Shore and then come see us the following weekend.” Rally America Rallycross is anticipated to return to NJMP in 2012 with two race dates that are to be confirmed. The series first visited New Jersey in 2010. Likewise, NJMP remains in negotiations with the ARCA Racing Series about hosting a 2012 race weekend. In addition, race cars of yesteryear will be celebrated during the Vintage Racers Group (VRG) track days on Sept. 22-23. The Championship Cup Series (CCS) NJMP SportBike Championship will compete in a four round championship in 2012.
