New Jersey Motorsports Park Proudly Announces Military Discount Program for 2016 Season
Millville facility embraces the military history of Cumberland County.
New Jersey Motorsports Park announced today that they will be offering a military discount for the 2016 season on ticket purchases. All active duty, reserves and retirees including spouses will receive a 10% discount on purchases of tickets to most events.
“We wanted to accommodate the large numbers of returning veterans and service members from all branches,” said Mark Verrastro, general manager of New Jersey Motorsports Park. “The NJMP Military Discount Program is just one way we thank our servicemen and women and their families.” As in years past children 12 and under are free to most events, this paired with the military discount makes a racing event at NJMP a very affordable family outing.
New Jersey Motorsports Park is located immediately adjacent to the Millville Airport, an airport that was dedicated in 1941 as America’s First Defense Airport which played a key role in the country’s World War II military efforts. The Millville Army Air Field opened as a gunnery school for fighter pilots for the Republic P-47 “Thunderbolt” in 1941. New Jersey Motorsports Park has embraced this rich history by naming its marquee 2.25-mile racetrack “Thunderbolt Raceway.” The 1.9-mile road course – Lightning Raceway – is named after the P-38 Lightning, a WWII fighter aircraft. As you travel around NJMP you will notice many other military references and building designs throughout the facility.
New Jersey Motorsports Park has an exciting line up of racing on tap for the 2016 season, including the NASCAR K&N Series and two MOTOAMERICA visits in April and September. Tickets are available online at www.njmp.com. To receive the military discount, ticket buyers will enter the discount code “MILITARY” at checkout, they will be required to present proper military ID along with their tickets upon arrival to the event.
