Moor to miss finale, focus shifts to Farkas

After injuring his arm in training, the points leader is on the sidelines as Farkas faces down a pivotal weekend in Austria

Friday, 02 September 2022

As the Northern Talent Cup gets back on track for the finale alongside IDM at the Red Bull Ring, the first twist in the tale has already happened. Ahead of the event, points leader Rossi Moor (FAIRIUM Next Generation Riders) crashed in training and injured his arm, and the Hungarian will sadly be forced to watch the final two races from the sidelines. That means compatriot and rider-on-a-roll Kevin Farkas (Agria Racing Team) has a somewhat open goal ahead of him, 14 points down and with 50 on the table.

The Red Bull Ring is also a good venue for Farkas, having staged his first forays at the very front and given the number 28 some good success with his first win, as well as podiums last season. And, after his recent runaway victories in his dash to catch Moor in 2022, that 14-point gap makes for even more positive reading.

So can he do it? On his tail, as ever, will be plenty of fast faces even if one has to watch from the stands. Dustin Schneider (Goblin Racing) is in third with just a single point in hand over Loris Veneman (TeamNL Open Line), with that seemingly a duel for third overall. Veneman was also on the podium in Spielberg in 2021. Meanwhile Martin Vincze (Chrobák Motorsport Egyesület) has Jurrien Van Crugten (BB64 Academy) and Lennoxx Phommara (Team Phommara) for close company as they battle for a place in the top five overall, if not more, and Phommara also has podium form at the venue. The same is true of Tibor Varga (Forty Racing), and he’s another who’ll want another podium before signing off from 2022 – a little back from the gaggle ahead but not by enough to be counted out of a key role in the finale.

14 points, a little more pressure and one contender remaining: can Farkas wrap up the crown? Tune in this weekend to find out as the NTC gets back on track for the final time in 2022!
