(NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.) More than 1,000 fans of the classic motorcycle film “On Any Sunday” filled the largest theater west of the Mississippi on May 21, making the 2008 OAS reunion a huge fundraising success for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

The 37th anniversary screening of the legendary film in Newport Beach, Calif., also featured a Moto Expo with machines from the On Any Sunday era. Hundreds of fans lined up for an autograph session with OAS director Bruce Brown, star racers Malcolm Smith, Mert Lawwill and Don Emde, and many others.

Dozens of industry VIPs attended the screening, including Troy Lee, Brad Lackey, Mike Bell, Roland Sands and Broc Glover.

“The On Any Sunday reunion was fantastic!” said national Ride for Kids® Director Kyle Clack. “Such a gathering of truly iconic motorcycle people was incredible. Children with brain tumors have an army of two-wheeled heroes bringing hope for a better future.”

The event was organized by Larry Langley and the Orange County Dualies, with special thanks to title sponsor Tucker Rocky and platinum sponsors Motorcyclist Retro and RVXtreme Magazine.

Fundraising for the PBTF is a personal cause for the Dualies, Langley says.

“Years ago we met one of the kids with a brain tumor, Michael Hoefflin,” he recalls. “We ‘adopted’ Michael into our club and were so impressed with his courage. Before the next Ride for Kids, Michael passed away, and from that point on the Dualies knew we had to do our part to help find a cure so other kids wouldn’t be lost.”

Langley and the O.C. Dualies will unveil the final total raised””estimated to be more than $40,000″”at the 16th annual Southern California Dual Sport Ride for Kids® on June 8 in San Bernardino. Click here for more info about the event.

About the PBTF Ride for Kids® Since 1984, the national Ride for Kids® program and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) have promoted childhood brain tumor research and provided family support through free literature about brain tumors, educational newsletters, online conferences and college scholarships. With the help of America’s motorcycling community, the PBTF has become the world’s largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research.

The 25th PBTF Ride for Kids® season continues on Sunday, June 1, 2008, in Atlanta and Richmond. For more information, go to rideforkids.org or call 800-253-6530.
