An online auction is underway to help offset the extensive surgeries and living expenses of racer Brant Wiwi, who is recovering from serious injuries suffered in a crash at Thunderhill Raceway Park. Wiwi crashed June 12 while practicing for the next day’s AFM races. While still not totally clear what happened, it appears the throttle on his Suzuki GSX-R1000 apparently stuck open. Wiwi crashed at approx 150mph, and he was airlifted from the track. Wiwi had 17 total boken bones including 11 broken vertebrae, broken bones in his right hand and wrist, broken ribs and a punctured right lung. All of the ligaments in his left leg were severed. The support auction is exclusive to friends, family, fans, and the road racing community only via word of mouth. The idea is to not only offer items at very, very low prices, but also some amazing one-of-a-kind items too. Not to mention, all the while supporting injured Wiwi and what looks like a very lengthy recovery effort. The auction can be seen at the website www.gowiwigo.com and click the auction tab. Includes items such as a track day and personal one-on-one instruction with Josh Hayes, a signed T-shirt from Tommy Hayden, private plane flight to Catalina Island. motorcycle gear, and non-moto related items too. For more information, contact Wiwi through the web site or call Beau Nillson, (818) 612-7885.
