Pacific Northwest Race Team Planning To Use BMW S1000RRs In 2010

Seattle, WA. February 19th, 2010 Top Gun Racing and Redline Motorsports is pleased to announce that 2009 WMRRA Open Supersport and Formula Ultra class champion Mike MacConaghy will be chasing the 2010 WMRRA #1 plate aboard the new BMW S1000RR courtesy of South Sound BMW. Mike MacConaghy, WMRRA’s 2008 Rookie of the Year has been a force in the Northwest racing scene since beginning his Novice season in 2007. Mike consistently finished in the Top 3 his rookie expert season and in his sophomore season really dropped the hammer. Setting track records multiple times and numerous race wins in WMRRA’s open classes, he secured the class championship for both Open Supersport and Formula Ultra in 2009. MacConaghy is very excited about the new bike from BMW and believes its capable of winning races out the gate. Thanks to the great support from South Sound BMW, Redline Motorsports, GP Suspension, Ohlins USA, Woodcraft, Armour Bodies, and Akrapovic; Top Gun Racing will be the first team in the Northwest to grid up with the new BMW S1000RR. In addition, WMRRA 2010 Rookie of the Year hopeful, Moaka Clay will also be riding the BMW S1000RR this season. For the upcoming season, Top Gun Racing will be fielding two BMW S1000RR’s, two Yamaha R6’s, a Suzuki GSXSR1000, and a Suzuki GSXR750. Piloting this impressive group of bikes will be the equally impressive riders: Mike MacConaghy, Moaka Clay, Brian MacConaghy, and Nico Tomacelli. The team will be looking at putting bikes on the podium every race and collecting class championships in the pursuit of obtaining the WMRRA #1 plate.
