GP OF FRANCE COMES UP AS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR SERGIO GADEA TO SORT OUT DIFFICULT START TO SEASON AND FOR MAVERICK VIÑALES TO KEEP IT UP Le Mans, 11th May 2011. The fourth round of the MotoGP world championship GP of France will be held at Le Mans legendary circuit this weekend. After an amazing debut with his first podium this season in Qatar Sergio Gadea then proved to be less successful on the last two rounds at Jerez (crashed) and Estoril (finished twelfth) hence achieving results which are far below what he is capable of and what is required to meet the goals he set on switching from Moto2 down to 125cc which is to battle for the title of world champion. It has got a little bit more difficult for him now but the championship will be quite long and there are still fourteen races -including that of this weekend- to be run especially that many upheavals can occur in such a sport. Paris Hilton Racing Team rider hopes to sort out this difficult start to the year and to achieve results more suitable to him so he can score the amount of points required to climb up the general ranking. Team-mate Maverick Viñales wishes to continue his incredibly rapid adaptation to the world championship. His performances so far have drawn a great interest among journalists, rivals and other professionals around this circle who have greeted him as the discovery of the year. He is coming to France to battle on a layout absolutely unknown to him with the intention to do well and get a good result which could be a place in the top ten – and why not in the top five. 33 SERGIO GADEA: “Things havenot turned out well for us so far even though I am sure the team, the technical team and myself have been giving what we can but for some reason we have not been able to convert this into good results. We made a tremendous start in Qatar but in the last couple of races we weren’t very lucky and it didn’t turn out right. But here we are at Le Mans which is a track that I have always made the best of and I hope things will remain the same on this occasion. It’s about time we made up for the lost time and started again on the good foot and above all it’s about not giving up or lose our self-confidence otherwise we are done. The world championship has just begun there are still many races left and I carry on with the same frame of mind which is to turn anything into good account. I am confident that thanks to this GP and the next one in Montmeló where we have always done well we will soon be back on the right track and get good results and be among the leaders which is what suits us. I definitely have an excellent bike, an excellent team and technical team and I think my riding skills live up to the objective we set at the beginning of the season but things still need to get into order. I am convinced that when we achieve this the results will follow. I have been feeling physically strong I exercise every day and I do various sports such as wake or paddle tennis and I am coming to France in very high spirits.” 25 MAVERICK VIÑALES: “As it will happen most of the time during this world championship we will be riding a track which I am not familiar with. I have no kind of reference for Le Mans and that’s why we will first have to discover its keys, those related to the layout or anything else and then work the way we have done so far and give our maximum. What we have to try to improve is our ability to better qualify because during races we have proven we were able to catch up on the top riders and battle with them. A better position on the starting grid would be really good for us. The frame of mind is the same as in the previous GPs, try to make the best of the race and fight against ourselves. I have planned to carry on learning, to work as usual and to do well and I am sure it will eventually pay off. The fact I have been twice in the position to reach the podium so far is not especially stressful to me and in spite of the comments generated by my performances in this start to the world championship I have been feeling really serene and not affected by it at all.”
