PARKALGAR HONDA will compete in the World Supersport Championship in 2011 with the aim of winning the title; while at the same time developing the best in Portuguese talent and helping Miguel Praia into the top six of the series. Parkalgar Honda is firmly established as one of the main teams in the World Supersport Championship and is in contention for the 2010 title with seven wins out of 11 races with Eugene Laverty, who is now confirmed as moving to World Superbikes in 2011. Paulo Pinheiro, Parkalgar Honda Team Owner, said: “I am delighted that Parkalgar Honda has played an instrumental role in helping Eugene Laverty progress his career. He has won 11-races so far in the last two years on his Parkalgar Honda and is the 2009 vice-Champion he has clearly shown his ability and the strength of the Parkalgar Honda team. “For Parkalgar Honda this is a happy time and we wish Eugene the very best in the future hopefully after winning the 2010 World Championship for us. He said: “Eugene has proved how good our Parkalgar Honda race bike is and it is right that he moves on and we wish him well. From the team’s perspective I am already talking with a number of obvious and not so obvious choices for 2011 with a view to retaining our position as a Championship challenging and race winning team. “We are honest when we say we believe we have the best motorcycle package in the Championship and we want a rider to help us win the 2011 title and help to develop Miguel into the top six finisher he has shown he is capable of.
