PARKALGAR HONDA racer Miguel Praia goes to this weekend’s 12th and penultimate round of the World Supersport Championship at Magny Cours in France determined to improve on what was his best race of the year last time out. Another rider collided into Praia on the start line, relegating him to 23rd at the end of the opening lap but he showed real skill and tenacity to fight back to equal his season best result of 13th at the last round at Vallelunga in Italy. Now he wants a clean start and the chance to fight for the top 10 where he believes he belongs. Parkalgar Honda racer Josh Hayes will also be looking to step up his game at the twisty 4.411km Magny Cours track in central France. The double American Formula Extreme Champion took an impressive 10th place in his debut World Supersport race last time out and with knowledge of the Parkalgar Honda team, CBR600RR bike and Pirelli tyres under his belt he is expected to be challenging for the top six in France. Practice and qualifying sessions take place on Friday and Saturday October 3rd-4th with the race at 1320 CET on Sunday, October 5th. All the racing can be viewed free of charge and live on www.worldsbk.com. Simon Buckmaster, Parkalgar Honda Team Manager: “Miguel impressed at the last round and as the season draws to a close he is riding better than ever. He has a fast bike and one of the best teams behind him, there’s nothing we want more than to see him fighting inside the top 10 and we’ll be giving it all we have got at Magny Cours this weekend. “Josh showed what a capable and talented rider he is by scoring 10th in his debut for the team. He still needs to learn the Magny Cours circuit as he has never visited before but we have a lot of belief in him and if he shows the grit and courage he did previously, there is no reason why he cannot be well within the top 10 by the chequered flag – I think he genuinely could compete for the podium with a bit of luck. “This is the penultimate round of the Championship and the Parkalgar Honda team really wants to retain fourth place in the team standings, so it’s crunch time and the results really do count.”
