Finally, the insurance company has listened to our request to allow riders under the age of 18 to ride at Fastrack Riders events. Here are the new rules: 12 and 13 years of age can ride 125 cc bikes only 14 and 15 years of age can ride 250 cc bikes only 16 and older can ride 600 cc and up bikes only Parents or guardians must sign all necessary release forms as well as the child. Starting August 1, 2008 Fastrack Riders is going to initiate a new rule requiring all oil drain plugs and oil filters be safety wired or silicon sealed. WHY! After four oil downs this year which cost on average forty five minutes to an hour or more to clean up costing everyone lost track time we felt it was time! Other track day companies already require this and really it is a safety issue as well. No oil on the track, no lost time, and fewer crashes! It is easy to do or have done and once you have had it done to your motorcycle the first time it is very easy to repeat the process. Most motorcycle shops will do it while you have your oil and filter changed. Fastrack Riders began experimenting with the AMB Timing system in June of last year. It has taken until now to get most bugs worked out of the process. Beginning at our Las Vegas Motor Speedway event this coming weekend we will start mounting the transponder bracket and transponder to your bikes with Velcro. It is a faster system and significantly less chance your bike could get scratched plus the transponders can be placed in a more protected out of the way place so there is less chance if a rider crashes that they would have to pay for a replacement transponder. The loop pad or mounting pad we would like to place out of the way up under your windscreen or in the dashboard area and leave that piece on the bike after you remove the transponder bracket when you are done. All this will speed up tech, no more scratches on your bike, the transponder will be out of the way, easier to remove, and no more zip ties breaking and your transponder goes missing! The last piece of the AMB Timing system is getting your times posted in a timelier manner. We hope by the end of May lap times of the day’s events will be posted within 24 hours. Also they will be easier to access via one click on our website.
