​Pedrosa Owes Spain $8.5 Million In Back Taxes

MotoGP star Dani Pedrosa owes the Spanish government $8.5 million in back taxes and penalties.

That’s according to the official list of tax debtors published Wednesday by the Agencia Tributaria, the Spanish Tax Agency.

The 93-page list includes Daniel Ramal Pedrosa (Pedrosa’s full name) as owing €7,856,949.85, or $8,577,825.00 at Wednesday’s exchange rates.

Pedrosa has raced in the World Championships since 2001. He won the 125cc World Championship in 2003 and the 250cc World Championship in 2004 and 2005. During 10 seasons in the MotoGP World Championship he has won 28 MotoGP races and finished runner-up in the World Championship three times, in 2007, 2010 and 2012.

Pedrosa is a native of Spain but has claimed residency in Geneva, Switzerland, for the last several years.
