Professional racer Chris Peris obtains minority ownership in Yamaha Champions Riding School
WILLCOX, Ariz. — Yamaha Champions Riding School (YCRS) is proud to announce that AMA national winner Chris Peris has been added to the company’s list of owners. Peris, who is a two-time WERA heavyweight endurance champion and avid street rider, acquired minority ownership in the New Jersey-based riding school this week.
YCRS was relaunched in 2014, and is majority owned by investor and CCS club racer Josh Siegel. Peris is the latest to join the group of minority owners who include members of YCRS executive leadership – Nick Ienatsch, Limore Shur and operations manager Keith Culver.
“Chris’ dad Fernando brought Chris to the Freddie Spencer High Performance Riding School almost 16 years ago,” Nick Ienatsch remembers. “Chris grew up at that school and was a natural to bring into YCRS ownership. He brings energy, enthusiasm, a championship-winning race record and strong business sense to our group of owners. Chris is a terrific instructor with a clear vision of how much YCRS can impact individual riders and the industry as a whole.”
Chris is equally excited to join YCRS as an owner during it’s peak winter school season at Inde Motorsports Ranch, not far from his home in Tucson, Arizona.
“In my years working with Nick, I have seen first hand that there is a clear path to teaching this sport and have seen improvement not only in myself, but in thousands of riders who have been through the program,” Peris said. “The way YCRS approaches, explains and executes riding technique is second to none and was something I had to be a part of. I’m looking forward to more sold out schools and the ever brightening future ahead of us.”
