The “Battle the Blaze Fund” is a special fund that has been established by the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb to support the many local fire, police, and other various departments that provided aid to the Colorado Springs and Woodland Park communities during the recent Waldo Canyon Fire. Not only were these agencies key players in battling the Waldo Canyon Fire, but they played a huge role in making our race a continued success and Colorado tradition. We are indebted to the men and women of these agencies for their extraordinary courage and service. They have helped to make it possible for us to re-schedule the 90th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on Sunday, August 12, and the full Race Week schedule of events beginning on Tuesday, August 7. Below are the organizations that will benefit from the Battle the Blaze Fund: AMR Cascade Fire Department Colorado Springs Fire Department Colorado Springs Police Department Colorado State Patrol Crystal Park Volunteer Fire Department CSU/Pikes Peak Water Shed Wild Land Team Donald Wescott Fire Dept.
