David Anthony Crushes the Track Record with Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike Slicks at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway

DIABLO Superbike SC1 Front and DIABLO Superbike SC0 Rear Slicks Serve as the Tire of Choice for Pirelli’s First Track Record of 2021

ROME, Ga. (February 2021) – Pirelli Tire North America congratulates FLY Racing rider David Anthony on starting the new year strong by capturing the brand’s first absolute motorcycle track record of the 2021 season. The achievement by Anthony came during the CVMA Series at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway while running the course in the CW direction aboard his Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike-equipped GSX-R1000.

“It’s a good feeling to start the New Year off strong like this,” said Anthony. “I managed to pick up right where we left off at the end of the 2020 season, which is setting lap records. Ever since I mounted the new sizing of the DIABLO™ Superbike slicks on my FLY Racing GSX-R1000, I have been able to take my riding to the next level. I’m looking to keep this momentum rolling into the remainder of the season!”

Anthony set the new lap record of 1:42.888 in The Shootout race, eclipsing the previous lap record of 1:44.869. His Suzuki motorcycle relied on the performance of a Pirelli DIABLO Superbike SC1 125/70-17 front and SC0 200/65-17 rear slicks.

“Pirelli and myself are proud to have Dave carry the flag for us,” said Oscar Solis, road racing manager, Pirelli. “He certainly has been riding exceptional and carrying the flag at a very high pace. I’m continually amazed at what he is able to achieve and how he pushes himself and our DIABLO™ Superbike range to the leading edge of performance. Congratulations!”

Pirelli has consistently remained the tire of choice for riders looking to reach the top step of the podium when competing at events that do not enforce a spec tire rule in North America. Being a MotoAmerica Superbike rider, Anthony is the perfect example when it comes to tire of choice. Pirelli continues to offer prizes for riders who set a new motorcycle track record while using Pirelli race compound tires.
