Winter Garden, FL ( September 19, 2008)–Celtic Racing’s PJ Jacobsen recently returned from his first showing at the Indianapolis Grand Prix will carry the momentum to the AMA Grand Championships at the Mid-Ohio Sports Course this weekend. Widely known for his 125cc talent and multiple championships, Jacobsen selects to run his RS 250 and will debut his Honda Riders of America / Honda Pro Oils/ Orient Express built CBR 600’s. Jacobsen won the championship in 2006, due to a scheduling conflict he missed the event in ’07. ” I was basically raised under the AMA platform winning over 30 AMA titles in Flat Track racing before switching over to Road Racing. I was a little disappointed when my schedule overlapped with the flat track Grand Championships, something I do look forward to. We returned from Indianapolis, and I have just been very blessed with a great showing, I wanted to race again this weekend at the AMA Road Races. I have waited for the golden opportunity to ride the big bikes (600’s) and I look forward to putting the Honda Riders of America/Honda Pro Oils/Orient Express backed ride on the podium,” commented Jacobsen Although Jacobsen has trained on the 600’s, he has however had limited seat time. This weekend’s race will certainly be challenging for PJ, but it will give him a chance to ride with more experienced riders. With minimal venues to showcase younger talent in road racing, this event certainly is an important entry. This year the AMA is partnering with the Championship Cup Series (CCS) to help run and operate the 2008 AMA Sports Road Race Grand Championships, set for September 19-21 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. AMA Sports No. 1 plates will be awarded to class winners.
