MotoGP Lands in Europe. First round of the season in the old continent at Jerez de la Frontera After the firsts two rounds in Qatar and Japan, the MotoGP World Championship lands in Europe where on Sunday May 3rd the Grand Prix of Spain will take place on the Jerez de la Frontera circuit. Pramac Racing riders have lived, until now, opposite feelings: Mika Kallio has obtained two good eighth positions putting himself in seventh place overall in the MotoGP classification, while his teammate, Niccolò Canepa, has concluded in seventeenth and fourteenth position the firsts two rounds. During the official test on this track, at the end of March, Kallio made it to register the sixth best lap time and therefore could be between the protagonists during the weekend. Niccolò, instead, will look for revenge to demonstrate his qualities after this difficult begin of the season. Eighth place isn’t an incredible result, but for how the weekend went we were very satisfied. It seems that Mika has learnt how is needed to ride the Ducati Desmosedici GP9 Sat and will try to improve himself here in Jerez where last year, in 250cc class, has conquered a fine victory. We expect an important reaction from Niccolò: on the contrary of Japan, where he rode for the first time, he knows well this track and he will have to show us his true value.” Mika Kallio – Pramac Racing rider “If they would have told me I would have finished in eights position my first two MotoGP races in January, I would have probably sign for it. Of course my objectives are others, but to arrive in the top level of road motorcycling racing as a rookie and be able to confirm in the top 10 it isn’t bad at all. On this circuit, in Jerez, I often found my self at ease and I hope to be able to confirm it this year. The Team is putting my self in the ideal condition to ride and show my qualities and for this I want to thank them publically. In Japan I had a complicated weekend for various reasons. At Jerez circuit, not like Motegi, I have ridden quite some times and it will be my occasion to achieve a good result. Both, in Japan and Qatar, I was too far from the firsts: I know I can do much better and I will give my best to demonstrate it.”
