(Santa Clarita, CA) The Leatt Corporation has been the U.S. leader in motorsports neck protection since its release in 2006, with the exception of the street and sport market. Due to body positioning and gear selection, the current GPX models have not been widely worn by the street and sport riding community. Understanding the need for neck protection, for all motorcycle riders, the Leatt Corporation has developed the STX Brace. The STX is the world’s only sportbike specific neck brace. The Leatt STX Brace will be unveiled at the Indianapolis Dealer Expo at 1pm on Friday, February 18th , booth #2017, and on display for the remainder of the weekend. The STX brace has a radically different design, to accommodate a speed hump or back protector, which are standard equipment for street and sport riders. Riders will also immediately notice lower front and rear table assemblies, which provide ample range of motion, while in a full-tuck or looking through a turn. The STX Brace will be available to the retail customer April 2011; the STX is offered in three sizes, and two color options. Leatt Corporation is the only neck brace company that has a testing facility to properly design and develop neck protection products. With a medical doctor, Mr. Chris Leatt, and a team of biomedical engineers on staff, you can be confident that the STX brace, and all Leatt products, are produced with rider safety in mind. “Leatt has sold well over half a million motorcycle neck braces and is proud of how many potential injuries we’ve saved off road riders from,” says Phil Davy, Leatt Corporation General Manager. “We are now very excited to be offering the street riders a specifically designed neck brace and hope to add many more riders to the list of saved by Leatt motorcyclists.” For more information, please visit www.Leatt.com or to schedule a time to review the STX at the Indianapolis Dealer Expo please visit ~http://leatt.genbook.com~. More, from a press release issued by Driven Public Relations on behalf of Zero Motorcycles: ZERO MOTORCYCLES DEBUTS ITS 2011 LINE OF INNOVATIVE ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLES AT INDY DEALER EXPO Zero Returns with New Models and New Opportunities for Profit Minded Dealers SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Zero Motorcycles, the global leader in the electric motorcycle industry, will showcase its 2011 Zero S, Zero DS, Zero X and Zero MX models at Dealer Expo 2011, Feb. 18-20 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Along with highlighting its new product line, Zero will also be presenting its business plan to interested motorcycle dealers that are looking for ways to connect to new consumers and new lines for their businesses. “Dealer Expo is a great way for us to reach the entire industry in one location and at one event. Whether you are an independent sales representative or multi-line dealer, it has become increasingly important to grow and adapt with the times,” said John Lloyd, VP of World Wide Sales for Zero Motorcycles. “Our strategies allow us to produce exceptionally high quality electric motorcycles that balance performance, range, weight, affordability and availability. In addition, our new dealer business model is equally cutting edge for today’s rapidly evolving retail environment. We encourage everyone to visit booth #5375 to talk to a representative and learn more about Zero Motorcycles.” Since 2006, Zero Motorcycles has been the only electric motorcycle manufacturer to produce, market and sell electric motorcycles to countries around the world. This year, Zero Motorcycles has made sweeping technical improvements as well as added a contemporary new look to all of its models, including a complete overhaul of the Zero S and the Zero DS. Every model is now ‘quick-charge’ capable using an optional upgrade that allows the motorcycles to charge nearly twice as fast. In addition, for the first time on an electric motorcycle, riders can now take advantage of J1772 public charging stations by using an optional accessory. This offers riders greater mobility by giving them access to a rapidly growing network of charge stations. The entire lineup is equipped with upgraded suspension systems, a more intelligent and rugged Z-Force powertrain, more precise charge indicators, new higher performance brakes and industry-standard component features. Other highlights to the product line include street legal configurations of the dirt bikes and a new maintenance free belt drive for the street and dual sport models. “We are extremely proud to be presenting at this year’s Dealer Expo,” said Scot Harden, VP of Global Marketing for Zero Motorcycles. During 2010 our engineering and manufacturing teams worked overtime to design and build the world’s finest collection of electric motorcycles based on feedback from the marketplace and our customers. To give something back to the community that has helped us to build our new lineup, at this year’s Dealer Expo we are extremely proud to donate a 2010 Zero Motorcycle to Cycle World’s Joe Parkhurst Foundation auction to benefit the college scholarship program for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.” For more information on Zero Motorcycles or to learn more about its complete product line including the Zero S, Zero DS, Zero MX and Zero X motorcycles, visit: ~http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/~. More, from a press release issued by Double Dog Moto: Double Dog Moto goes ‘rabid’ at Indy San Francisco based mechanical engineers Double Dog Moto will launch a significant number of new innovations at their Dealer Expo booth (#3748) commencing this Friday in Indianapolis. Known for their highly specialized carbon fiber monocoque tails and megaphone exhausts, Double Dog Moto will reveal new cutting edge products including carbon fiber and titanium rearsets, a dual exit under-belly muffler for the BMW S1000RR and new Kawasaki ZX1000RR, monocoque tails for most Superbikes in non-carbon composites and a new version of their successful expansion chamber megaphone. Said President and Chief Engineer, Mark Henry: “This is our first Dealer Expo, and we intend to make a statement with a lot of products that have never been seen before. We are only interested in creating innovations that solve real problems for racers and serious street riders, so by definition our products will always be ‘different’ and sometimes a bit of a shock in an industry that is more product-conservative than it probably realizes.” Carbon Fiber rearsets – possible? Using technology from their structural monocoque tails, the new BMW rearsets (more models coming soon) are laminations of carbon fiber and titanium for maximum crash resistance and minimum weight. Said Henry: “These are definitely not something you should try at home!”, referring to the significant engineering knowledge and R&D resources required. “These are half the weight of competitor rearsets, and much stiffer and stronger where it counts. We love composites, and we understand their advantages and limitations very well. We wouldn’t make all-carbon rearsets, and we wouldn’t make all-titanium rearsets, but if you know how to combine them in the right way you get something that is far superior to either alone.” Under-belly mufflers: Called the ‘Stealth’ (obvious when you see the picture!), their patent-pending under-belly muffer with carbon fiber shell fits neatly in the same position as the stock catalytic converter and exits gases on each side. Benefits include far less weight and lower center of mass, improved flow for more power, split sound emissions, and no protruding cans to damage in crashes. Composite monocoque tail units: Their new Composite Exoskeleton monocoque tails may also be a world-first. Replacing entire subframes and cowlings, these structural units are manufactured from the same molds as the Double Dog Moto carbon fiber monocoques, but use no carbon fiber: just glass fiber, Kevlar, and titanium laminated in a very specialized technique that achieves almost the same strength and stiffness as carbon fiber, for only an extra pound or so weight. Said Henry, “We were keen to get involved in AMA and homologated our exhausts for the 2011 season, but our main specialty, carbon fiber, was banned back in 2009 to reduce costs for the teams. With development focus we worked out we could achieve almost the same result without the carbon fiber. The key is the titanium and how it works with the composite to add strength and ‘crashability’. With riders depending on a secure place to sit their butts, this is another thing you shouldn’t try at home! It’s another example though of the Double Dog way: we work hard to develop products that are very difficult for others to replicate we want to be the first, and we want to remain unique!” For more Double Dog Moto news detail, visit: ~http://www.doubledogmoto.com/news/news.html~ Double Dog Moto new product catalog: ~http://www.doubledogmoto.com/press/Feb2011_brochure.pdf~ More, from a press release issued by Powersport Institute: THE POWERSPORT INSTITUTE SHOWCASES TECHNICIAN TRAINING, CAREER PLACEMENT SERVICES AT DEALER EXPO NORTH RANDALL, Ohio – Industry-leading technician training school the PowerSport Institute (PSI) will showcase its hands-on training programs and career placement services at the upcoming Dealer Expo, Feb. 18-20, 2011, in Indianapolis, Ind.
