THE CROZIER ROBERSON MOTORSPORTS/DNA ENERGY DRINK TEAM IS READY TO CHALLENGE THE FIELD AT MID-OHIO Daytona Beach, Fla”¦Ready to challenge the field at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, July 16-18, the Crozier Roberson Motorsports/DNA Energy Drink team is more determined than ever to finish on the podium. Running in AMA Pro Daytona SportBike, pilots Bobby Fong and Michael Beck are eager for the racing to get underway. “Six weeks off is a long time for me not to race,” says Fong. “I have been working out, eating right, riding motocross and even doing some mountain biking. I’m feeling really good and I am definitely ready to win. I’ve ridden Mid-Ohio before and it is a technical track and I like it. The team has my Ducati running really well as was evidenced at Road America when I shot into the lead. Unfortunately a mistake was made which caused a penalty. But that’s not going to happen again. Everyone is definitely together and determined to win.” “I finished middle of the pack last year at Mid-Ohio,” says Beck. “I don’t plan to settle for that this time out. Our DNA Energy Drink Ducati’s are loaded in the truck and ready to go. The crew has really been working hard and everything should be dialed to perfection. I think this will be a good race for the Crozier Roberson Motorsports team.” “We’ve struggled a bit at the last two events,” adds SuperSport East point leader Joey Pascarella, “but I think we have everything ironed out. My bike is good and I am happy to be back racing. Six weeks is definitely a long time. I spent some time in Florida and that was great, but now I’m ready to go. While I still have a strong lead in the series, I want to extend it and Mid-Ohio is the place to do that. Plus, it would be totally awesome to be the first one to put the DNA Energy Drink colors on the podium. Crozier Roberson Motorsports is a great team and I definitely want to make them proud.” “The truck is already on the way,” says team manager Mark Crozier. Everything is set to go. Hopefully, this will be a good weekend for the team and DNA Energy Drink. We’ve got a great trio of riders, good machinery and an excellent crew. I figure it is our turn to shine this time out. More, from a press release issued by AMA Pro Racing: Vance & Hines XR1200 Series Advance – Honda Super Cycle Weekend presented by Dunlop Tire at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 12, 2010) – Take one of the most famous names in motorcycling, Harley-Davidson. Add in components from high performance motorcycle accessories manufacturer, Vance & Hines and then mix well at one of the classic road courses in the United States, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and you have the makings of a real happening for motorcycle racing fans the world over. The AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series made its debut last month at Road America in the home state of Harley-Davidson, and what a debut it was. AMA Pro Road Racing superstars Danny Eslick and Jake Holden riding their team RMR Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona Racing XR1200’s put on a display of side-by-side, give-and-take racing that harked back to the days of the classic Harley-Davidson 883 series that produced so many of the great names in AMA Pro Road Racing today. These two riders battled back and forth for the entire 10-lap race and the margin of victory was a mere 0.055 of a second. Between the two riders, they led nine of the ten laps with Kyle Wyman leading one lap also. But the statistics don’t tell the story as these two, and then Eric Stump, the aforementioned Kyle Wyman and his brother Travis all battled and swapped positions many, many times during each and every lap. The performance-matched Harley-Davidson XR1200 with the attractive and efficient performance enhancements from Vance & Hines guarantees that no one can run away from the pack and the 2.4-mile, 15-turn Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will provide a fascinating stage for the second race in this new and exciting series. Rejoining their battle at the front will be Eslick and Holden on their RMR Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona Racing XR1200s. The team receives valuable support from GEICO Powersports and Lucas Oil as they prepare for Mid-Ohio. Third-place finisher and AMA Pro SuperSport road racer Stump will be back on his Rapide Manage Dan Chivington XR1200 as will the Wyman brothers, Kyle riding another of the RMR Bruce Rossmeyer Daytona Racing Harley-Davidsons and Travis is back on his Harv’s Harley-Davidson AB-1 Motorsports XR1200. Two riders that had some difficulty at Road America that will be back for round two are Paul James and John Ashmead. James is back and ready to go on his James Gang/Hoban Bros Racing XR1200 and Ashmead will again ride his Brady/Schwemmer Racing XR1200. James suffered a fall that prevented him from continuing in the Road America round, and Ashmead suffered a mechanical problem that the team repaired during a delay in the proceedings that necessitated the race being restarted later in the day with eight of the ten laps remaining. With the dedicated Harley-Davidson XR1200s racing around the country alongside with the regular AMA Pro Road Racing classes, interest and participation should build as Harley-Davidson riders, dealers and fans get into the action and show their support for this ultra-competitive series. Practice for the Honda Super Cycle Weekend Presented by Dunlop Tire will begin on Friday, July 16th. The XR1200s will take to the track Saturday, July 17th and the 17-lap race will be on Sunday, July 18th. Visit www.midohio.com for ticket and further information. More, from a press release issued by Penny Nicolai on behalf of Ryan Kerr: RYAN KERR HOPES FOR THAT EXTRA EDGE AT MID-OHIO SPORTS CAR COURSE Johnstown, Ohio”¦ When the Green Flag signals the start of the AMA Pro SuperSport event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, July 16-18, young Ryan Kerr will be hoping for that all important extra edge. “This is the only track in the series that I know,” says Kerr who works part time as an instructor for the Mid-Ohio Motorcycle School. “I have never ridden on any of the other tracks. However, this time out, I know the track and am hoping that my experience here will put me on the podium. Currently tied for 5th place in the SuperSport East standings, Kerr’s best finish to date has been a 9th place at Road America. “Before this year, I had never competed professionally,” continues the Ohio native. “Every race is a new challenge and so much fun. I’ve known for a long time that racing was what I wanted to do and having the chance to follow my dream this year is totally awesome.” A hard-charger, Kerr’s goal this season is to finish every race and so far he has done just that. “Up until this race, we have only had one race bike,” continues Kerr. “Every time I went out, I knew if I crashed we were done for the day. Now we have two Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R’s, so if I have a major problem in practice, we will still be able to run the race, which is a big relief for me and the entire Ryan Kerr Racing crew. It definitely makes their life a little easier.” Quiet, serious and unassuming, Kerr is very likable and quite humble about his ability on two wheels. He tends to watch and listen, obviously intent on learning everything he can that will help to make himself a better racer. “This coming race is really important to me,” he continues. “Mid-Ohio is my home track and it is the one time that my entire family and all my friends can come and watch. If I was going to pick the one place to shine, this would be it. What could be more outstanding that to really do well with everyone I really care about looking on.” One of best known race tracks in the country, the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a favorite with two-wheeled fans from all over. Boasting a 2.4 mile track with 15 turns, its picturesque layout showcases the exciting action-packed racing that the Honda Super Cycle Weekend is famous for. “The AMA Pro SuperSport class features two 17-lap races,” says Kerr. The racing is really tight. There are a number of riders that can win at every race and the margins of victory are incredibly close. Our races are 40 mile sprints and you have to be on your toes every second. We are definitely ready and everyone on the team has their fingers crossed for a good finish.” Ryan Kerr Racing is sponsored by MJ USA, 614Paintworx, Leo Vince, Arai, Di-Digital Impressions, Woodcraft, KobieC.com, Kawasaki and MJ Motorgear, and Mid-Ohio School.
