LATUS MOTORS RACING HEADS INTO ROAD ATLANTA LOOKING TO BUILD OFF POSITIVES FROM OPENING ROUND
Kenny Riedmann Will Join Bobby Fong on the Team at Road Atlanta
ATLANTA (April 16, 2015) – The Latus Motors Racing team welcomes Kenny Riedmann to race alongside Bobby Fong in the MotoAmerica Supersport class at the Road Atlanta round in Baselton, Georgia, this weekend, April 17-19.
Riedmann, the reigning CSBK Pro Sport Bike Champion, will be riding the #21 Latus Motors Racing / Castrol / Triumph Daytona 675R and is eager to start his 2015 season on U.S. soil ahead of the Canadian Superbike Championship.
“First off, I want to thank the Latus Motors Racing team for giving me the opportunity to ride this weekend at Road Atlanta,” said Riedmann. “I’m looking forward to getting on a bike for the first time this season and am hoping to get the team a good result.”
Bobby Fong had a promising start to the 2015 season aboard his #50 Latus Motors Racing / Castrol / Triumph Daytona 675R, leading the first practice session and qualifying second at the Circuit Of The Americas last weekend. Rain started to fall just before the start of Saturday’s Supersport race, forcing riders to change from slick to rain tires. During the race, Fong was entrenched in a battle for first before sliding out on the last lap. He was able to remount his Daytona 675R and finish ninth.
“On the last lap, I was in second place and it started dumping rain. Unfortunately I hit a seam in the middle of the track and ended up crashing,” stated Bobby Fong. “There were a lot of positives, but not the results we wanted. Luckily we were able to salvage some points.”
Latus Motors Racing will be competing with a new purpose after the recently announced Castrol’s VETMotorsports Performance Match Fund. Sgt. Chad C., who was deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of the Marine Corps, will be placed with the team as a crew member at Road Atlanta.

April 16th 2015- Meen Motorsports prepares for the second round of the 2015 MotoAmerica racing season leaving Austin with valuable points.
The MotoAmerica weekend at COTA started well for the Meen Team. Herrin put his Yamaha R6 on the front row, despite only completing two laps for the entire qualifying session. Meen Team’s wild card Supersport rider Joe Roberts also had a standout qualifying session, starting right behind Herrin on the second row in fifth.
Herrin was able to set the pace early on in what was declared a wet race. He lead several laps and looked comfortable, out-braking the rest of the field. Yet the ever changing weather conditions of the Circuit proved challenging for both riders, making it difficult for anyone to set consistent pace. With only 2 laps of the race remaining Herrin ran wide, allowing Bobby Fong and JD Beach to briefly get in front of him. The rain then came down harder forming puddles on the track and Herrin hit one, high-siding in spectacular fashion. Teammate Roberts running in fifth also fell victim to the same puddle, putting his bike on the ground as well. Both riders remounted, Roberts finishing 6th with Herrin following in 7th, collecting valuable points.
The team now has its sights set for Road Atlanta this weekend April 18th and 19th, where Roberts will be begin his battle for the 600 Superstock class title and Herrin will look to have two strong finishes to continue the Supersport championship chase.

Road Atlanta could turn GEICO Suzuki’s Chris Ulrich in the right direction
ATLANTA (April 16) — After a trying experience in the two rounds of racing at the season-opening MotoAmerica event, GEICO Suzuki Superbike rider Chris Ulrich is ready to try again and rebound during rounds three and four at Road Atlanta, April 17-19.
“It was a bit rough going last week,” Ulrich said. “I do feel like we gained a lot of useful knowledge though that we can apply. It has been a short turnaround for us with having two races back to back, but the guys definitely worked hard to get it done just like they did in the off-season. We had a short turnaround then as well with the change of manufacturers. It’s not the best situation, but we’ve gotten it done so far.”
With rain predicted for the second race in a row, Ulrich feels a bit more confident this time of what to expect on his GEICO Suzuki under wet racing conditions. However, no matter what the weather conditions end up being, he hopes the results from this weekend better reflect what his team is really capable of.
“It looks like we’re going to be dealing with weather again this weekend,” Ulrich said, “but at least we had a bit of time on the bike last week under wet conditions. Other than that, hopefully we have the issues we faced in the last race figured out and can finally get the results we’re hoping for. We’ve all worked hard. Now we just need the finishes to reflect that.”
Qualifying for the Superbike class will take place at 2:10 p.m. ET, Saturday, followed by the first of two 15-lap races at 11:20 p.m. The weekend’s racing action will conclude Sunday with the final Superbike race at 3:20 p.m.

HOUSTON, Texas – Aprilia HSBK Racing had a successful weekend at the first MotoAmerica round at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. Riders Dustin Dominguez and Devon McDonough rode Aprilia RSV4’s in the Superstock 1000 class. The team continued to tune in the bikes and improve their performance with every session on the track.
The team started with a dry practice session on Thursday and they were able to complete several laps. The Friday morning qualifying session was cancelled due to fog which left only one qualifying session. During Friday’s qualifying, Dominguez qualified second in class and McDonough was able to qualify 5th in class.
Leading up to race one on Saturday, the weather was unpredictable and wet. Race one was declared a rain race. Dominguez got a great start and was able to gain speed with each of the first laps. He had an impressive battle with Tyler O’Hara and was able to put his head down during the final two laps to build a gap and finish second in the first ever MotoAmerica Superstock 1000 race. Dominguez’ fastest lap was 1.8 seconds faster than third in class. McDonough had visibility issues during the first race due to his helmet fogging, but finished a strong fifth in class for his first national 1000cc race.
On Sunday, race two was dry and hot, but the riders only had an 8 minute warm-up session right before the race due to the morning fog. Dominguez got a great start and was able to run with the leaders, but chose to ride smart and back down a bit. He ran a strong race and wasn’t challenged for position. The commentators noted it was a, “lonely race,” for Dominguez as he had a strong gap on the pack behind him. He finished with another impressive second.
Dominguez noted that, “In all, I’m very pleased with our first weekend on the Aprilia RSV4. I think we are miles ahead of where we could be and I’m excited to see where this goes. If we are already this good this early, I can’t imagine where we will be by the end of the year. Better every session!”
McDonough had a slower start in race two, but was able to make up some ground in lap one. He battled with several Superbike riders over the course of the race and was able to finish fifth in his class. McDonough wrapped up the weekend with the comment that, “We may be happy, but we are not satisfied and now we look to push on and do better next weekend at Road Atlanta!”
Team owner, Bobby Shek, was pleased with the weekend. He said, “I’m so proud of the crew and riders for an impressive first race weekend. The team has done an incredible job getting these bikes ready for the guys and we couldn’t have done it without the support of Aprilia and RSRacecraft. Dustin is doing what we knew he could and is riding a strong and consistent pace at the front of the pack. Both riders are proving they deserve to be on these machines and I look forward to strong results the rest of the season.”
