Jake “Squirrel” Morman is set to make his first AMA Pro Racing start at Daytona in the Supersport class. After an encouraging debut at the 2nd Daytona tire test, holding top times in the sole session until a late course change, he is looking forward to the two races on Friday and Saturday. The 16 year old 2008 AMA RedBull Rookies Cup competitor will be racing his private Yamaha R6 with strong support from his family and friends based team along with Rich Debarton/BadRad Racing and Livengood Motorsports. Having the added bonus of being allowed to run the iconic #34 of good friend and mentor Kevin Schwantz, the Squirrel is fired up and ready to go. “I’m really looking forward to this coming weekend. It was a great opportunity to get on the track at the Dunlop Tire Test in Janaury to learn the track and set the bike up before this race. I feel more confident on the 600 after coming off last season at the GNF with good finishes. The bike feels strong here and I really like this kind of track” says Jake. “I really want to thank all of my sponsors, The Schwantz School, Rich DuBarton, Livengood Motorsports, Pant Saggin Dezigns, Arai Helmets, Dainese, Ohlins USA, Dunlop Tires, Drippin Wet and Motul Oil.” You can follow Jake’s progress on Facebook at Jake Morman Fan Page or on Twitter at JakeMorman34.
