British F1 Sidecars to continue with BSB in 2012 After a hugely successful 2011 season, the Eastern Airways British F1 Sidecar Championship is set for an even bigger, and better, year in 2012 with news that it has now been made an official partner to the premier British Superbike Championship. And with an additional round being held with the World Superbike Championship meeting at Donington Park, it promises to be a stellar season for the three-wheel class. After being absent for a number of years, last year saw the Eastern Airways British F1 Sidecar Championship line up with the BSB programme at 4 meetings, but this is set to be doubled for 2012 with 8 rounds now scheduled to be held as it becomes an official partner to BSB along with the Ducati 848 Challenge and Triumph Triple Challenge series’. Eastern Airways will again be the title sponsor of the Championship whilst talks are currently taking place with several other potential series sponsors. Meanwhile, a promotional package has also been produced which will include a 3-minute promo DVD along with flyers outlining TV viewing figures, gate attendances and general BSB information. As mentioned, eight rounds will be held at BSB meetings, including the overseas trip to Assen, with the ninth being on the World stage at Donington Park in May, the first time since 2006 that a major Sidecar Championship as been held alongside a World Superbike meeting. This round will also be held over a longer, World Championship distance.
