Tomy Puerta has a new personal sponsor for the 2015.

Tomy and the RoadRace Factory are pleased to announce that Cards for Caring has come on board for the inaugural MotoAmerica Season. Cards for Caring is a non-profit charitable organization founded by 13 year old photographer Kayla to raise awareness of environmental issues and the need to support wildlife rescues. Cards for Caring and Tomy will team up this season in an all out effort to bring awareness to the forefront and raise donations to support local wildlife rescues.

Tomy, “I am very excited to have Cards for Caring as a new personal sponsor for this season. I work with a lot of charities and even have the Tomy Puerta Foundation back home in Colombia, and when I was approached by Seth, I was immediately drawn to their mission as a wildlife and environmental awareness organization. We both believe in making a difference and I’m honored to have them on-board for the season.”

About Cards for Caring:

Kayla Wolins is a 13 year old student with both a passion for photography and for making a difference in the world. At the age of 12, Kayla began combining her gift of photography with her love of animals and the environment and established “Cards for Caring”. She began making notecards with her mom; Michelle Wolins, using her original photos and selling those cards and prints to raise money for another non-profit, The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado. To date, Kayla has raised over $7,000.00 for this magical place that rescues and provides life-long homes for large exotic captive wild animals.

Initially Kayla’s photography focused on the beautiful scenery and animals near her mountain home in Colorado. A dedicated and patient photographer, she has more recently begun expanding her subject matter and enjoys discovering the perfect light and interesting angles in a variety of subjects including current and vintage motorcycles.

Kayla’s family became involved with the Road Race Factory (RRF) through Yamaha’s Mike Okano and initially sponsored Jake Gagne when he was competing for (and winning) the Red Bull Rookie’s Cup in Europe prior to joining the RRF. After Jake moved to Danny Walker’s team, Danny gave Kayla her first motorcycle lesson! When Danny introduced Kayla’s father Seth to Tomas, Seth was impressed with Tomas not only as a great young rider, but with his character. Like Kayla, Tomas believes in making a difference. Through the Tomy Puerta Foundation, he helps underprivileged children and works to promote traffic safety in Columbia. Seth commented, “It’s difficult for young riders to find sponsors for road racing in North America and we are pleased to be able to help support the sport and a quality young man.” “Tomy’s depth of character is consistent with the foundation by which the RoadRace Factory was built upon and embraced by every team member”.

Be on the look out for Cards for Caring displays at several of the races this summer including Barber, June 12-14, Laguna Seca, July 17-19 and Indy in August.
