          Sometimes, a streetbike is not the best choice for a specific riding mission. And sometimes, if the goal is to get away from civilization and have some fun, a dual-sport can be a better choice.

        While there are many popular “adventure touring” models available that are theoretically capable of accomplishing a mission like this, my limited off-road riding experience led me to avoid the 500-plus-pound, 100-plus-horsepower machines and think small, light, and manageable.
