Motorsports photographer Andrew Wheeler has died, according to a post by his friend Rocky Wingwalker (a.k.a. Rachel Wilken), who reported on social media that she found Wheeler deceased earlier today at his home near Austin, Texas. He was 60.

Wheeler was recovering from a “mini stroke” he suffered while covering the MotoGP races at Sepang and Phillip Island and was dealing with partial paralysis and balance issues.

Wheeler photographed MotoGP races since 2005 for a variety of media outlets, including Roadracing World and Cycle World.

Wheeler was preceded in death by his wife Emily, who died from cancer in 2014.

We will update this with more information as it becomes available.
