N2 / WERA Ready for Steel City Superbike Challenge, Adds WERA Race License School

Asbury NJ – N2 Track Days and WERA Motorcycle Roadracing are getting ready for the Steel City Superbike Challenge and WERA National Challenge Series at Pittsburgh International Raceway Complex (PIRC) slated for July 15-17, 2016. To accommodate new racers or racers that have never participated in an endurance event, N2 and WERA have added the Race License School to the Friday Track Day event. Racers riding in either the Saturday or Sunday events may enroll in the WERA race license school for an additional fee (track day and race school are purchased separately).

This race weekend will feature the Steel City Superbike Challenge, a 4-hour endurance race to be held on the 2.8 mile, 19 corner full circuit racetrack on Saturday, followed by the WERA National Challenge Series on Sunday.

The Steel City Superbike Challenge endurance race is part of N2’s commitment to roadracing in America and the growth of this sport. The endurance race is broken down into three race categories: heavyweight, middleweight and lightweight and will offer a guaranteed purse of $10,000 to be divided equally among the three groups. Payouts will be made to the top 3 finishes in each category. The specific rules governing this event can be found on the N2 roadracing website. Online registration will be available in April, look for further announcements.

To assure that this event runs as smoothly as possible, WERA will be officiating the event including registration, tech inspection, and timing with the help of N2’s roadr acing staff. Aaron Borello and Scott Rosey, both veterans of WERA road racing and part of the N2 core staff, will be providing oversight and racer support for all N2 road racing events. If you have questions specific to this race event, they may be reached via e-mail at [email protected].
