DUNLOP RIDES TO 19 MRA CLASS CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 2016 SEASON

Dunlop riders combined to capture 19 different Race Class points titles during the 2016 MRA season, paced by standout riders Shannon Moham and Ryan Burke.

Moham won eight different classification titles this season and finished second in another two. Burke took home six titles, including the prestigious Race of the Rockies Overall Title. Ricky Orlando won two points titles and placed second in three classifications, Mike Applehans also won two points titles and earned one runner-up, while Ian O’Connor won one amateur points title and placed third in another amateur class.

“Congratulations to all of our amazing Dunlop riders for on their championship season,” Dunlop Race Tire Service President Steve Brubaker said. “We are proud to be associated with so many great riders. From the start of the season to the end, our tires proved to be the best and fastest tires on the MRA circuit. Imperial Sportbikes provided flawless Dunlop trackside service all year long, and did a tremendous job tuning and maintaining the bikes of so many dominant Dunlop riders.”

All totaled, the 2016 MRA season saw 12 different Dunlop riders combine for 41 top-3 points standings finishes in end of season points standings, using Dunlop’s GP-A Pro, KR-451 US Made Slicks, or Alpha-13 tires to dominate the season standings.

Brian Dobrowolski (four), Tim Meiners (three), John Borst (two), Brad Morris (two), Jay Hollman, Jay Samarjian, and Ray Thornton all rode Dunlops to top-three finishes in MRA points standings.
